《Artist Profile》
Ed Emberley was born in Massachusetts, U.S.A., in 1931.
He began to work as a picture book writer from 1960, and has made more than 100 picture books so far.
He received a lots of prizes including honorable Corday cot Prize and The year of the best picture book Prize of New York Times.
His picture book "Ed Emberley's Drawing Book of Animals" compiled his message that "Everyone can describe the painting easily and it's fun" published in 1969, and the picture book of "DrawingBook" becomes the series, and it has been loved even today by many people.
He proposes that Everyone can easily draw a picture to combine a simple figure, such as ○,△,□.
Uncle Edo lives in the Boston suburbs filled with nature, and to have children please, he is still working on the creative activity of picture books.
